Another couple of small paintings in the series...

Here's a photo of a couple of more small oil paintings (4x5 inch canvas panel and 4x6 inch stretched canvas). They are part of an ongoing project (I posted other parts of it in May 2023, December 2022…) which consists of multiple views of several bonsai tree plants that I enjoy growing.

A small project continues...

Here's a photo of a couple of more small oil paintings (5x5 inches on stretched canvases) that I recently finished. I'll frame them soon. They are part of an ongoing project (I posted another part of it last December) which consists of multiple views of several bonsai tree plants that I enjoy growing.

Some tiny works: pencil, ink, watercolor...

Here's couple of photo collages showing 7 relatively recent very small works I finished on paper (the type of paper I chose wasn't always the best for the medium in all cases). The two flower paintings -- one ink, one watercolor -- are on approximately 5x8 inch mixed media paper, the other 5 drawings are from a 3x5 inch sketchbook.

About half of a project...

Here's a photo of half a dozen small oil paintings I finished (one 3x3 inches, a couple of 5x5, one 5x7, a couple of 6x6….) on stretched canvases and canvas panels. The subjects are some bonsai tree plants I grow. I intend to paint several more.

I took this photo of them still on the easel, but plan to frame them soon (pardon the background stuff in the room). As usual, I've re-sized the image and reduced the quality for uploading.

A painting of Danny's Riggs...

Here's a photo of a 10 by 20 inch oil portrait I finished of Riggs, a dog belonging to Danny who is the son of a friend named Mary Ellen.
I took this photo of it while it's still on the easel, unframed (the background stuff behind the canvas is just stuff in the room). As usual, I've re-sized the image and adjusted the quality for uploading.

An 18x18 painting for Spring...

Here's a photo of an 18 by 18 inch oil painting on canvas I've been working on, on the easel and ready to frame, based on a Japanese maple tree MaryEllen gave to my sister. The stuff in the background can be ignored -- except maybe the tail of one of my cats on the left.
As usual, I've re-sized the image and adjusted the quality for uploading (it may look a little more pink than the actual painting -- it could depend on the camera / phone).

A painting for year's end...

Here's a couple of photos of a 16 by 20 inch oil painting on wood I've been working on, on the easel and ready to frame, based on foliage of a backyard tree. As a lighting experiment, the colors look darker to me in the image taken under ceiling fluorescent bulbs, and greener in the photo taken closer to the window.
As usual, I've re-sized the image and adjusted the quality for uploading.

Two tiny paintings for Robyn...

Here's photos of two tiny oil paintings I made of my friend Robyn's cat, Dorian Gray. The one showing the whole body is 5x7 inches, the one of just the face is 4x4, so it was difficult for me to get a picture in focus with my old camera, and, as usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

A painting by me for winter, 12x24...

Here's a photo of an oil painting I've been working on and am getting ready to frame. It's inspired by winter woods near my sister's house. The canvas is 2 feet long and 1 foot high (24 x 12 inches), drying on the easel (pardon the door and other items in the background). As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

Painting of autumn woods, on wood, 16x20

Here's a photo of a 16 by 20 oil painting on wood that I'm pretty much finished working on, inspired by autumn woods near my sister's house.
I took this photo of it while it's still on the easel, unframed (the background stuff behind the panel is just stuff in the room), on a cloudy day: the fluorescent light on the ceiling may be washing out some of the more subtle colors. As usual, I've re-sized the image and adjusted the quality for uploading.

A painting of Naomi's Cocoa...

Here's a photo of an 11 by 14 oil portrait I finished of Naomi's dog named Cocoa; Naomi knows my sister from the work they do rescuing animals at the shelter.
I took this photo of it while it's still on the easel, unframed (the background stuff behind the canvas is just stuff in the room). As usual, I've re-sized the image and adjusted the quality for uploading.

A second 8 by 10 oil painting...

Here's another small 8 by 10 oil painting I finished that shows a metal horse, a ceramic monkey figurine, three small vases (one with metal flowers), along with miscellaneous background items. It kind of goes with a second still life, which I just posted.
This photo was taken on an easel while the painting is unframed, so cardboard is visible in the background.
As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

A small 8 by 10 oil painting...

Here's a small 8 by 10 oil painting I finished that shows a brass horse, a small cream pitcher, and a tiny souvenir kettle, along with miscellaneous background items. It kind of goes with a second still life, which I'll post next.
This photo was taken on an easel while the painting is unframed, so a door and cardboard are visible in the background.
As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

A vertical painting: white flowers, glass tabletop...

Here's a photo of an oil painting I've pretty much finished working on for now, It's 2 feet high, and 1 foot wide (12 x 24 inches), unframed, drying on the easel (pardon the door and other belongings visible in the background). This painting depicts some white flowers with green leaves, in a glass bottle filled with white stones, on my sister's glass-topped white wicker kitchen table, in front of some shuttered closet doors, near a window. As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes. I expect the next painting I work on will be smaller and more colorful.

Been painting George....

Here's a photo of an oil painting I've been working on, remembering a cat I had named George. It's 11 by 14 inches, unframed, still on the easel because it's not quite dry (the doorknob on the right, etc, in the background is part of the room the easel's in, although the bookcase and binders on the left are obviously part of the painting). As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

Recently painted Riley portrait... :-)

Here's a photo of an oil painting portrait I recently finished of my cat Riley. It's 11 by 14 inches, unframed, still on the easel because it's not quite dry (anything in the background around the edges of the canvas is just a room the easel's in). As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

Portrait of Shanna's Barry and his Magic Hat...

Here's a photo of an 11 by 14 oil portrait of Shanna's adopted American Eskimo dog named Barry, along with his magic hat. Shanna got this portrait by me for being the high bidder in an animal rescue fundraising auction.
I took this photo of it while it's still on the easel, unframed (the background stuff behind the canvas is just books, furniture, etc., in the room). After I framed it I did slightly touch up the hind paw. As usual, I've re-sized the image and adjusted the quality for uploading.

Painting on wood, 16x20....

Here's a 16 by 20 oil painting I did on wood, still unframed on the easel -- when I took the photo I couldn't avoid getting stuff from the room in the background. It's my depiction of a scene from the Asian garden behind (and part of) Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. My sister and I spent much enjoyable afternoon time sitting here. The street just beyond the garden is Park Drive -- and the front door of the building where I lived for about 16 years, until 1998.
As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

Two 8 by 10 oils...

Here are two 8 by 10 oil paintings I finished that depict roses in my sister's yard.
These photos were taken on an easel while they were unframed (my signature was still wet), so there's stuff (furniture, books, etc.) in the background behind the canvases.
As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

Still Life....

Here's a couple of photos of a 12 by 24 inch oil painting I did on canvas. It's called "Route 101 Barn Sale, Bedford, New Hampshire".
Because the painting isn't framed yet and the top half is much darker than the bottom, one of the pics is against a lighter background for clarity / visibility (except for all the stuff in the background of the easel and on the table / wall). As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes....
