Looking forward to it....

I'm going to have a painting in the Prescott Park Art Show (a juried exhibition) at the Sheafe Warehouse (built in 1705!) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The show starts today and goes until August 21st. It should be exciting!

Some newer 2011 paintings...

Here are a few more paintings I finished recently.

The smallest is 9 x 12 and is a view from the bridge in Mine Falls, Nashua, NH on a cloudy day. (By the way, the painting of the swan in my earlier post was also a view at Mine Falls.)

The other three oil paintings here are all 11 x 14 and are scenes from Plum Island, Massachusetts (where the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge is): 2 different views of waves, and another view looking out over a bog that had many different shades of green.

Since my last post I became a juried member of the New Hampshire Art Association. Yesterday I participated in an outdoor art show for the first time (on the Amherst town commons), and got a lot of positive feedback. Although it was the best weather we've had in at least a week (i.e. the sun was out), I didn't get a chance to go for a bike ride...Maybe later in the week.

My next planned paintings will be of the gardens at Beaver Brook in Hollis, NH.

The past year's oil paintings....

Here are some quick snapshots of 17 of the oil paintings I finished in about the past year....They are all oil on canvas panels. The size of most of them (irises, my sister's four dogs, the orange cat) are 11 x 14 inches. The four shell paintings are each 5 x 7 inches. The brown and white cat, the rose, and the black cat are 9 x 12 inches. The swan is 8 x 10 inches.
