Two 8 by 10 oils...

Here are two 8 by 10 oil paintings I finished that depict roses in my sister's yard.
These photos were taken on an easel while they were unframed (my signature was still wet), so there's stuff (furniture, books, etc.) in the background behind the canvases.
As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes.

Still Life....

Here's a couple of photos of a 12 by 24 inch oil painting I did on canvas. It's called "Route 101 Barn Sale, Bedford, New Hampshire".
Because the painting isn't framed yet and the top half is much darker than the bottom, one of the pics is against a lighter background for clarity / visibility (except for all the stuff in the background of the easel and on the table / wall). As usual, the image quality and size have been reduced for uploading purposes....

Goldie...

Here's a photo of the 10 by 20 inch oil painting I recently completed on canvas. It's based on a 2 by 4 inch section of a photo I took years ago of my horse Goldie in the autumn at a barn where he lived for a dozen of the over 20 years I owned him. The last couple of years of his life -- until he was around his early 30s -- we lived together in Merrimack, NH.
Before calling this painting finished, I did a lot of work visually balancing the composition to provide detail to attract the viewer's eye, and to reach a point where both at a distance and close up it conveys what I wanted to capture: the image of a much loved companion in peaceful contemplative repose surrounded by glorious New England fall foliage.
R.I.P., Goldie -- I'm thankful for the great memories and having had such a good friend that I still love very much.
I took this photo of the unframed painting on an easel, so the stuff in the background is just books, furniture, etc. As usual, the image quality and size have been adjusted for uploading purposes....

Fourth of four...

Here's the fourth -- and last -- part of a project I finished which was completing four 11 by 14 oil painting versions of small 6 by 6 inch ones I made a couple of years ago (that were sold at an Animal Rescue League benefit). Here's the fourth, unframed, still on the easel (pardon the distracting background...). The other three have been posted previously.
Other projects I currently have in the works are a couple of paintings that will be on elongated rectangular canvases: one will probably have a lot of blue in it, and the other will probably have a lot of orange. I'm also working on some ideas for an interior and a couple of outside scenes that might be painted on board.
As usual, the image quality and size have been adjusted for uploading purposes.

Portrait of Derick's Sam...

Here's a photo of an 11 by 14 oil portrait I recently completed of a dog named Sam. Sam's owner Derick is so kind and generous that he adopted Sam from a no-kill charitable animal rescue organization, and got this portrait for being the high bidder in the same rescue's fundraising auction.
I took this photo of it while it's still on the easel, unframed (the background stuff behind the canvas is just books, furniture, etc., in the room). As usual, I've re-sized the image and adjusted the quality for uploading.
